Portakabin celebrates 25 years in Scotland

The Hamilton based quality modular building manufacturer, Portakabin, is celebrating 25 years since the company started trading in Scotland.

Portakabin acquired family owned Paton Plant Ltd in 1986, which since 1954 had been its Scottish distributor, and two years later moved the business to its current Scottish HQ in Hamilton.

George Finlayson, Managing Director, Portakabin Scotland, said:
"We are delighted to be celebrating 25 years of continued success in Scotland and look forward to another 25 years to come in the future.

"Our success is the result of total dedication to customer service and a commitment to continued innovation and development. For example, our new turnkey service is adding value and means that we can remove much of the hassle involved in planning applications, ground works and building warrants for customers. The response from customers has been enthusiastic as they recognise the benefits that the service provides."

The company held a special event at Hampden to commemorate the milestone and recognise the achievements of its 104 staff. Last year in Scotland Portakabin defied recessionary market conditions, achieving a turnover of over £17 million and winning several major new contracts.

Portakabin Events complemented the hire and sales business in Scotland providing waste and sanitation solutions for over 1.5 million people at all of Scotland’s major outdoor events. These included the British Open, T in the Park, Rockness, Leuchars Airshow and the papal visit in Glasgow. For more information visit www.portakabin.co.uk
